Supplements are a hot topic for sure. As a whole, most “fat burners” and things like that are just over-hyped (and priced) snake-oil pills.
However, I do take certain supplements every day because quite frankly, while not totally necessary, taking the right ones will help your body run most efficiently and enhance your results.
So today I wanted to answer a question I get asked all the time…

“What supplements do you personally take?“
#1 Supplement I Take
A multi-vitamin.
Okay, I’ll confess, I LOVED my gummy vitamins. Until I learned how little I was actually getting from them ☹
Now I take a super high quality vitamin and eat a pack of no-sugar fruit snacks later if I need a gummy fix.

#2 Supplement I Take
An Omega oil supplement is next on my list. It’s been shown that having a healthy balance of Omega 3 to 6 ratio will help bring down inflammation in your body (this happens when we have too much 6 and not enough 3).
I recently switched to a higher quality brand than the one I had been taking for year and I have noticed increased concentration and better recovery from my workouts with consistent use.
Plus, quality fish oils will prompt your body to store calories (energy) in your lean tissue vs your fat cells.
This is a supplement where cheaper is almost always not better. Many low-quality oils are rancid or contaminated with toxins (from the oil source)

#3 Supplement I Take
If you like to hit it hard in your workouts, your joints can take a beating. While proper warm-ups and recovery methods are essential there are some supplements that can help.
When it comes to joint supplements I have never been a believer until I started to feel the difference for myself.

#4 Supplement I Take
One supplement that I just added to my regime and am feeling the benefits of is a quality probiotic. Your gut is a huge part (70%) of your immune system. Keeping your gut full of healthy bacteria will help keep the sickies at bay. While it’s a great idea to get probiotics from natural sources like fermented foods, it’s also great to have a guaranteed dose of them every day.

#5 Supplement I Take
Pretty much daily I use a protein shake to help me meet my protein needs for the day as well as to help me recover after an intense workout.
