I get this question a lot and I wish there was a blanket answer but there just isn’t.
Almost always the answer starts with “it depends….” And then I list some factors to consider.
Because at the end of the day how much you exercise and how your body handles the training you put it through is very individual.
One thing I *do* believe in is daily movement. Now movement is not always a workout. It can be some light recovery work, a brisk walk, riding your bike or taking your rollerblades for a spin.
Or perhaps it is an actual workout but not a crushing one. On an intensity scale of 1-10 perhaps it’s a 5 or 6.
The idea is to just move! We were not created to be sedentary creatures. Our bodies are MADE to move.
Lately I’ve been speaking about how we want this fitness lifestyle to become a habit. Meaning it’s something you don’t even have to think about or decide to do, much like brushing your teeth or washing your hands.
If you reflect on the habits you have that take zero brain power what do they all have in common? You do them DAILY.
What we do daily becomes ingrained in us. It becomes weird when we *don’t* do them.
